BRENDAONLINE.COM 8  And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the  Lord  had commanded to Israel. LORD, I pray that there will be an outcry for people to demand to hear what your word said according to the law of Moses in my community.  The temple is built, the gate and wall is completed and now the people want to hear the Word of the Lord!!!! 2  And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month. Ezra responded by bringing the law before the people.  Lord, may we have leaders who will hear the cry of wanting to hear your Word. 3  And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were at

BRENDAONLINE.COM  7  Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed, Nehemiah appoints someone to take him place. 2  That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many. We should live so that someone could appoint us into a position they think we can do well in. 3  And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against his house. Nehemiah gave a specific time when the gates should be opened. When the sun is up until the sun goes down the gates will be opened.   Each gate had a name.  The sheep gate, fish gate, old gate, valley gate, dung gate, and so on.  These gates led to what the city had to offer and

BRENDAONLINE.COM 6  Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;) Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem shows up again.  Some people think that it is their duty to harass.  A person who has something to do in life does not have time to agitate.  Life is pointless if all you have to do is create chaos in others' lives.  2  That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. Nehemiah recognizes the deceit in the request of his enemies.  3  And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? Nehemiah said I am working and the work is a lot.  Not only is it a lot, but it is also import

BRENDAONLINE.COM 5  And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews. Life with the people of God was more than just building the wall.  Judah was repairing the wall but inside the wall were challenges.  A famine hit the land.  God is there to meet the outside problems and the inside problems too.  Whatever Judah needed God was not absent from what was going on in their lives and was more than able to meet their needs. 2  For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live. 3  Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth. 4  There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards. 5  Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to
