Brendaonline.com Jeremiah 42:1-22 (KJV)  1 Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near, Johanan, Jezaniah, captains of the army, and people least and great, came near, 2 And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, [even] for all this remnant; (for we are left [but] a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:)  they came to Jeremiah,  where Jeremiah was during the killing, chapter 41 did not say;  the people knew where Jeremiah was and went to him and asked him to pray for them. 3 That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do. When people are fearful, they remember the faithful and they know where they can be found many times.  4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard [you]; behold, I will pray unto the LORD y

Brendaonline.com I have been studying the Word of God for 3 years every night; this is the first time that reading one chapter a day has been challenging.  Chapters 40 and 41 have me in suspense.  I do not hear God speaking and I do not know where Jeremiah is.  Because of my journey of not reading but one chapter a day, I will have to wait to see what is going on after the children of Israel were taken by king Nebuchadnezzar.  OH! MY! the drama! Jeremiah 41:1-18 (KJV)  1 Now it came to pass in the seventh month, [that] Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah.  Ishmael along with 10 men came to the house of Gedaliah and ate together. 2 Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of

If it seem good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well unto the

Brendaonline.com Jeremiah 39:1-18 (KJV)  1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it. Year nine and the 10th month Nebuchadrezzar came to Babylon and surrounded Jerusalem with his army.  The people of Judah could not do anything outside of the place where the Babylonian army camped themselves.  When a city is under siege, there will be a lack of the basic needs for the city to survive because the people of the sieged the city cannot import or export the goods they need.  The Words spoken by God through Jeremiah is now happening in the land of Judah.  2 [And] in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth [day] of the month, the city was broken up.   Two years later,  Nebuchadnezzar invaded the city of Jerusalem.  Zedekiah reigned for 11 years and 4 months and was king of Judah. 3 And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle g

Brendaonline.com Jeremiah 38:1-28 (KJV)  1 Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,  4 men heard the words of Jeremiah. 2 Thus saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.  If you surrender to the Babylonians you will live and if you do not you will die. 3 Thus saith the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which shall take it.  The Lord without a doubt said the city will be taken over by Babylon's army. 4 Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in spe
