Solomon seems to speak to his sons using several scenarios.  I read each scene and made my personal comments on what I learned.  The son of Solomon perhaps was a child during this conversation or teaching.  God wants us to tell our children about life.  We will not steer our children in the right directions if we do not guide them through what we know about life.  Solomon was a king.  His son will one day become king.  Solomon used a level of teaching that left no stones unturned.  The higher we view our standards of living, the higher our children will leap to the level God wants them to have in His knowledge and understanding about what it is that they must know about life. 6  My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger, Son, if you co-signed for a friend, or if you shook hands with a stranger, 2  Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
