Psalm 5
5 Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.
My words are, many times, help me to do what Your Word says. Most times God is asking me to say nothing at all and I fail because I have a practice of expressing my own thoughts. I am determined to work on this until I master the art of silence. God can't get the glory unless I let Him do it the way He knows how to do it. He needs no help from me. Help me, Lord!!!!!!!!!!!
2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
Pay attention to my cry and let my voice be unique in your ears. You are above all and you are my God! I am making my request to you!
3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
I want my voice to be heard in the morning. Like David, I know I can get through to you if I call on you first thing. I am motivated knowing I have your attention.
4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
Lord help me to leave wickedness alone. You have no delight in wrongdoing. If am wicked you will not tolerate my speech. Lord forgive me and help me to be careful with the things I think and say.
5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Lord, I bring what you say into your presence. Empty words you cannot stand. You hate every evil work. That is why I must learn Your or Word because I know you recognize your vocabulary.
6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
David is asking God to destroy the speech of begging, pulling, or taking money from people without anything in return. Leasing is the act of taking money for housing, business, etc in which the occupants never own the property. When God gives He gives. What God gives it belongs to the person to whom he gave. The receipt says paid and full. Yes paid and full, not paid in full. It is God's good pleasure to give. God hates bloody and deceitful people. When we rob and deceive, we put ourselves into the hand of God who is against taking blood which means life, and deceiving people.
7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Since I know you, I will acknowledge how I carry myself. I will approach you asking you for mercy, and I will worship in reverence of your Word.
8 Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
Tell me what to do. Let my enemies be ashamed of what they say against me because of you. Lord, help me not to attempt to defend myself with wasted words. I cannot defend your word. Lord deliver Parker from Words that can damage her understanding of you. Lord deliver my sons from the enemy's path. Lord, show my enemies that you support your Word and help me to dwell on what I know you said and not the voices of interruption.
9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
I have learned in the last few days that people can be phony to the core. Lord help me to know how to respond when I am presented with people who blatantly function with hypocrisy. Help me to pray and not be moved once I discover their purposes. They flatter with their mouths and they live as mommies in a graveyard.
10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
Lord, David said what I want to be said. I understand by the blood of Jesus, I am asked to forgive. Show me how. Father, I pray that you put a block to the continuous words spoken against me. I am tired and I want to talk back. But I know many times I am wrong in my thinking so I would not want what I want to be done to them, to be done to me. I pray according to your word. Forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing. I pray for the students who have stopped by bible class. I pray that you deliver them from carnality which is an interruption to your Word. I pray that every person who comes to class wants to live a better life.
11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
Lord, thank you again for defending me. How I get myself in these situations I am having lately is unknown to me. Thank you for helping those who are offended by me or I am offended by them. Renew my emotions and give me something to smile and laugh out loud about. Help me to forget what belongs to you when it causes me pain. I want to be happy today!!!!!
12 For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
It is not because you owe me, it is because you show me favor. Thank you for your favor!
