20 The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
Someone or some people were praying on David's behalf. Whoever it is that is praying has been around David and his God and they too sound like David when he prayed.
If we have praying leaders, we should knows the same God they know; and people should be able to say, you sound just like
your leader.
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion
It has always been God's design for the church to educate people. The sanctuary ought to sound like God is speaking. Every church ought to be saying the same thing. Stop the private interpretations and read what he said in context. God does not need us to prop or apologize or make excuses for what He said.
3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.
The people or a person praying for David knew his conduct. They asked God to remember what he did and accept what he was going to give as an offering.
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
Fulfill the request David has asked according to Your Word!
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
We will make your name BIG and we know You will do as we have asked.
6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
This prayer is going strong on David's behalf. When we sincerely live according to the Word of God, people will support us in prayer for us.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
The ammunition needed is the Name of the Lord. Counting on ourselves is a waste of time.
8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
We won!
9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.
And the people said, return David back to us so that he can hear us when we call him.
Song
Some trust in chariots,
and some in horses:
but we will remember the
name of the Lord our God.
If you call of Jesus
He will answer prayer!
