Psalm 28

brendaonline.com

This Psalms identifies David wanting to be distinguished from being in any wise wicked.
He asked God to remove him from the grounds of the wicked.  The Word of God exposes wrong in people who claim to be right.  When we behave in a manner of deception of any kind, we are labeled as wicked if we continue in that wrong behavior of sin.  Ahab and Jezebel were a wicked well-known married couple.  Being a wicked leader caused those who followed them to be as there were.
We must shower in the Word of God to be examined for what God will approve of or not approve of in our lives.   To miss meeting with God on a daily basis, we will develop ungodly responses and behaviors.  Being a sinner is not on the same level as being wicked.  Wicked people are mostly found in and around religious people who refuse to live by what they pick and choose to live from in the Word of God.  Sinners are people who missed the mark or sometimes have not met the Lord because of others who fail to represent God.
David begged God to keep him steady so that he will never be known as a wicked king.

David prays and God heard.  And if we know God heard, then we can be confident in knowing it is done!!

28 Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity-(immoral or grossly unfair behavior), which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.

Wicked- evil or morally wrong, sinful, bad, unholy, sacrilegious, profane, illegitimate, lawless, felonious, indictable, perverted, reprobate, sordid, depraved, horrible, diabolical, diabolic, fiendish, vicious, abominable, reprehensible, hateful, detestable, despicable, odious, contemptible, repulsive, extremely unpleasant, sleazy.....

Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

We will be kept by God.  He will save, bless, feed, and lift his people every single day.  Doing right has great benefits.
