Psalm 49

49 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:

God is talking to everyone!!!!!!!

2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

Everyone!!!!!! We live in a society that ranks people according to status and it is sadly accepted.  However, God is calling altogether and identifying them according to their earthly accepted positions.  We answer to these labels and it is and has never been the names God would address.  

3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

I am giving you the right to choose!  I will speak the Word of God!

I am telling you the deep thoughts of my heart!

4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

I bend down and listened to a parable a story that parallels with a real-life situation.  I will use a musical instrument to open the deep things of God.  Music sometimes conveys the message of the heart.  Meditation mixed with music speaks from the soul.  I have a remedy to cope with life.

5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

Why should I fear in evil times? In those days when I will run because of sin around me everywhere.  It sounds like the psalmist is now stating this is why I called you to this gathering.

6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast

 

Are you boasting because you have stuff? LISTEN!!!!!

Seemingly, it has been brought to my attention, that some people are making wrong decision thinking that their weath is something to boast about and I want to address this issue.

7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

You may be rich but you cannot buy or pay for the life of your brother!!!!!!  The most important fact about the God life is totally different from the world's way of operating.  Money in a believers possession must be purposeful and managed.  In the world's system, money is a race; and the race is never won.  At some point the race must come to an end otherwise you will be consumed in the chase of it and when it is all said and done, you did not win anything.  Money answers the world's way of overcoming.  Money has manipulated the system of the world and you think some how it will manipulate life after death since we all know we have to live somewhere.

8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

We must be redeemed from the mindset of money makes us powerful.  We must realize that there is something money is to weak to purchase even if you own all of it.  Our souls is priceless.  There is no barganing, no bartering,no negotiation about buying yourself out of trouble.  God has a plan for man and the reason we all are gathered here is to set the record straight in knowing where we are today is not all that there is to life.  We were created to live forever and we must prepare ourselves.

9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

We were created to live forever.  We were not meant to die. But if we do not follow the directions of God's Word, we will see what will happen if we do not change.

10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

Here we have 3 types of people mentioned: wise, fool and brutish.

A wise man will listen and do, a fool will listen and ignore what he heard and a brutish is as an animal who does not have the mind of the Word of God and lives life as he chooses with no reguards for the outcome.   The wise will die, but the fool and brutish will perish or be destroyed.

11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

Once a man leaves this world, no matter how he named his stuff on earth it means nothing.  He thinks that his name will last forever, but he thinks foolishly. Thier thought are so strong until it is believed by his off springs.  Which says that everything from that man is damned.

12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

What good is life without God?   It is as if that man spent his life without purpose as unproductive a mindless animal.

13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

Our ways are foolishness!  And the generation after you repeat the same as the foolish.

14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

Death took over. But the people who walked in integrity will rule! NO God? you will lie in ruin.  Corrupting daily!!!

15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

If I live according to God's instuctions, my life will be impossible to be defined.  There will not be enough words to describe my destiny so all I can say is, it will be easy.

16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

Don't look at the rich man!

17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

He will die without a dime.

18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

Men praise the rich fool.

19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

He goes where others went, who are like him.

20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

A man without God is like a dead dog.
