Psalm 76

76 In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

GOD IS FAMOUS IN ISRAEL. When God showed up, the word got around through places that were near.

God revealed Himself.  God is easy to get to know through His Word.

2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

In Jerusalem is His meeting place and his residence on the Hill of David where the City of David was built.

3 There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

God destroyed all attacks against Him in this place.  Even if the enemy weapons were more advanced than the children of Israel, God intervened and fought for them.

4 Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

There is no other place like Yours.  A mountain of prey is a mountain that is known to be full of good.

5 The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.

The stubborn is dead.  No one has found their remains.

6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

Even the transportation is destroyed.

7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

You are to be feared.  If you are angry who can stand against you?

8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

Earth heard from heaven.  You called out from heaven and earth heard and feared and was stilled.

9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

You know God has made His move when he makes victory for His people.

10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

When I am done, man will recognize I am God.  The wrath man gets a chance to use, I will subdue.  The remaining wrath will stay in his hand and God will make sure it is held back from hurting His people.

11 Vow, and pay unto the Lord your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

Do what you said before the Lord.  Keep your word.  Honor God with your gifts of strength.

12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

God is against anybody that is against His Word and those who desire or who are standing in wait to become ruler and God is against those in authority already.
