PSALM 71

Joshua-13 When Joshua had grown old, the Lord said to him, “You are now very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.
“This is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and Geshurites, from the Shihor River on the east of Egypt to the territory of Ekron on the north, all of it counted as Canaanite though held by the five Philistine rulers in Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron; the territory of the Avvites on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, from Arah of the Sidonians as far as Aphek and the border of the Amorites; the area of Byblos; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo Hamath.
“As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you, and divide it as an inheritance among the nine tribes and half of the tribe of Manasseh.”

2 KING 13: 14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands.
17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the Lord's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
20 And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.

Deuteronomy
34 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the Lord shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan,
And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea,
And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar.
And the Lord said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.
So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.
And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.
And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.
And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.
10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,

11 In all the signs and the wonders, which the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
12 And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.

PSALM 71 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

I have trusted in You Lord,  at no time while You let me live, do I want to become a confused servant.

Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

The enemy does not stop because I am advancing in years, so I am asking that you deliver me always.

Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

I will continue to come into your presence and seek to know Your will for my life.  You gave me Your Word that you will save me.  You are all I trust.  You are my steady place and my protection.

Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

Pull me out of the hand of the ungodly, remove me from the hand of the people who refuse to submit to Your authority.

For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.

Your Word is my hope.  I have trusted you since I was very young.

By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.

You have had a purpose for me since I was in my mother's womb to carry this assignment.   I am yet in awe of who You are and I can't help but praise You!

I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

I am different from many;l but you are my secure place of rest.

Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.

Let me speak the right words and honor You all day long.

Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

Don't refuse to use me in my old age.  Don't leave me because I am not as strong as I use to be.

10 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,

I still have enemies.  They still plot against me.  They think because are more in number than myself that they will cause me harm.

11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.

They say God has left him.  We can take and harm him and there will be no one to stop us.

12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.

Lord come near me and do not delay to help me.

13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

Let those who want to stop Your will for my life become confused in their plot.  Let them be found guilty for the wrong they falsely accuse me of.

14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

I will stay in the Word and praise you more and more!

15 My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.

While I am yet alive, I will continue to praise You!

16 I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.

If my strength is small, I will go in Your strength.  I will talk about You to everybody.

17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.

I have known of You since I was young;  even until this day, I still declare You are God.

18 Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.

Use me in my grey head age.  Don't leave me.  Let the young generation hear my testimony.  I will show them Your strength in my life and I have lived by your power.

19 Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!

Your right way of doing things is higher than all the earth.  There is nothing or no one like you.

20 Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

You have shown how You work and You will make me alive again and no matter how far I am from you, You will find me and rescue me if need be.

21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

You will increase my quality and grant me easement from every side.

22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

I will use my musical instrument to praise you using Your Word.  I will sing to music!  Oh my God!!!!!

23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

I will know I am delivered and my song will sing loudly!  My inside will scream knowing You have brought me back to you.

24 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

I will talk about You all the time!  My enemies are dumbfounded because they consistently tried to do me wrong and You have publicly declared me innocent because of You.
