Psalm 81

81
Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

This is not an option.  Sing to the one who gives you strength and make it a song of celebration!  The same God Israel knew is the same God today!

2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

Take the lyrics and add music!!!!

Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

Alert everyone!  A new season at the exact time I planned to meet with you!

For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

This is what God wanted His people to do at the appointed time forever.

This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

When Joseph who is the same name when referring to the children of Israel, walk out of Egypt and hear them speak, I refused to acknowledge what was being said.

( Egypt is Israel's long, lost brother who did not recognize God, who did not recognize Israel as a relative)

I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

The children of Israel, by God's command, no longer will serve you as slaves.

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

You called....I answered.

I delivered you in the hidden place of the sounds of the sky.  There is something majestical about thunder, that only I know.  I examined you when Moses did not follow my instructions to give you water.

Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

God is saying hear Me out!  If only you will listen and do as I say;

There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

I am God all others are strange gods.  Don't pay them any attention.

10 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

I brought you out and if you are hungry for me to fill you up with my ways of doing things, I will not hold back!  I will grant My Word to you.

11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

My own people would not listen to me.  They said they want no part of Me.

12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

I let you operate without My instructions.

13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

If only My people had listened to Me.

14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

I would have taken all powers from their enemies and I would stop the intent of the people who fight against what is right.

15 The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

The people who know and oppose My Word should have done as I said.  But their time was spent ignoring Me and now they will be in pain forever.

16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

If only you Let me be who I Am, you will have nothing but the best!
