Psalm 85
85 Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.
Lord, you expressed your approval when you delivered all that is Yours. You promised Abraham You would bring his offspring back and You kept Your Word.
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
When your people went astray from Your Word, You forgave them from their ongoing sins. You blotted all of the sins they committed.
3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.
When we have done wrong and turn back to You, You will not hold our sins against us.
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
Now, Lord, it is our turn. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from doing wrong. Don't be angry with us.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
We have sinned too. Will you be angry with us because we have committed iniquity in our generation?
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Will you allow us to know You? We too want to rejoice in having You as our God.
7 Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.
Forgive us Lord and show us that Your forgiveness and grant us access to You.
8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
I will pray and listen to what God has to say. I have prayed and now it is time to wait. Let us stop going back into sin.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
Deliverance is near anyone who respects God's Word; His presence represented by beauty will always show up what He has given us.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
Mercy and truth are combined together. Righteousness and peace are so close together they can kiss each other.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
A tender plant out of a dry ground. This is how Jesus came to the earth. A hard cold world, a dry space, and a lonely place for the Son of God who made all things but not recognized by even a few.
12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
Yes, the Lord definitely provides or supplies good to us: our land given to us by God will produce more than enough.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.
Jesus will be guided by righteousness, and He shall give us the Word of God that is the path to life that will lead to God.
