Psalm 111
111 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
There is a new angle of viewing God every day. Because he is beyond finding out, and he is always providing, he is to be praised! I will praise when I am doing my daily activities and when I come together with others.
2 The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
God's works cannot be measured; small or great; God's works show he is God. Those that stay in his word will see because they have pleasure in watching and learning how he does what he does.
3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
God's work is flawless. He gave special care in making what he made. He honors what he does, and those that know how he does his work see and talk about it, spreading it like fame!! The way God does things is the same way he did it long ago. He does not get tired of doing things right.
4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.
God made what he made for us to remember he was the one who made it. What he made, he made it to last and he made it good: the Lord is courteous and full of kindness. God has outstanding customer service.
5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
Meat as food, he gives us; meat as strong commands that he will do through us. He does not have to feed us baby food for us to love His Word. He will always remember what he promised.
6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.
In his Word, he showed us how he did things. He said he wants us to know so that we will inherit what he planned for those who refuse to believe He is God. If the jews reject, he said I will give to the gentiles.
7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
What God did for us is extremely important. He will use what he did to show us when we are right and when we are wrong.
8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
God's work will last always because he did it in truth and integrity.
9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
He sent for what he wanted and he got it. He gave us his word and he fulfilled what he said. He is to be respected because that is his reputation.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
To study God's Word is the start of life. He will give you a good understanding of everything that concerns us if we obey His Word. You will live a life of praise if you continue in His Word.
