Psalm 116

116 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

God hears my voice.  Out of all the people in the world God knows my voice.  He hears my passion, my pain, may concerns and the my voice of my praise! He distinguishes me from all the noises of earth and says Brenda is calling! Shhhhhh. God hears my voice when I am not making sounds.  Who am I that God is mindful of me?  His mind is full for me.  God heard my earnest cry.  There is a difference in my demand or my desire in comparison to my supplication of heart felt need.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.  

How he does it, I do not know.  God is not like man.  Man ignores the sound of my voice.  Man runs from the sound of my voice.   But God, inclines or get close to me when I call on Him.

3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Problems invaded my space.  Pain that felt like death surrounded itself around me.  In my sorrow, I got bad news.  Insult is added to injury.

4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

Then I call and begged deeply for my God to help me.

5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

God is courteous and He is right in what He does.  Yes our God knows how I got myself in this tangle and found  the time to help me when I called.

6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

I did what I should not have done and he still helped me.

7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

My soul cried out for me and was troubled.  I spoke to my soul and said you can keep quiet now, God has answered.

8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

God let me live.  My soul love Jesus bless his name.

9 I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

I will represent the Lord in my daily life.

10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

I saw the Word.  I believed what I saw.  I spoke what I believed from the Word of God: I was having a hard time.

11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.

I spoke hurriedly and said all men are liars.

12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

How can I pay God for all He has done?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.

I will take the prize given to me called salvation and call seek the Word of God.

14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

I will live outloud in the sight of people that know me.  I will not hide that fact that I am a vessel in the army of God.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

Treasured in the sight of the Lord, is when He sees that a saint has died. God saw it and could have prevented the death of a saint; but he saw it as way of saying that one belongs to me forever.  When our lives are taken under persecution, it give God great honor.  He sees that we are convinced that He is who He says  He is.  He immediately grabs us and receives us into His holy place.  Only God knows the speed of being transferred from death to life.

16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

Lord you set me free.  I had a choice and I made You my choice.  I boldly came back to You! I came back to you and I want to be marked as one of Yours whom You called Your servant.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

I will show my gratitude by doing what I do, and doing it with grace. When I need You, I will call you to show me how to do what I was chosen to do.

18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

I will keep my promise to You in the land of the living.  I will show others how we should behave as children of God.

19 In the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

In the presence of God will I praise You.  All of God's peoples praise the Lord!!!!!
