Psalm 118

118
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

God is good and He knows it... and He can back it up.
He wants us to believe and know it.

Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Let the people say that His mercy last always.  We ought to say what God says because we experienced it.

Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Let those who teach say His mercy is always.

Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Let all people say His mercy endures forever.

I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.

Call God at all times even under extreme  pressure.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Know God well enough that you have no reason to fear.

The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

Even when I am weak, the Lord will support my portion and He will make sure all who help me will defeat my enemies.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

Trust the Word of God.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

When we trust titled wearing people we tend to think it is more powerful than mere men.

10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord will I destroy them.

There were many coming against me, but the Lord will destroy all who oppose me.

11 They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

God will give me strength to defeat my enemies.

12 They compassed me about like bees: they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

Many mean men come against me like bees who are territorial over what belongs to God, but God put the  sting out of their sting.  God has put His Word over me and he destroyed them all.

13 Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the Lord helped me.

You desperately  wanted to hurt me, but the  Lord is my helper.

14 The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

My strength, song and now He has become my salvation.  This tells me that I cannot get enough how God will help me.

15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

Inside the heart of the righteous, there is constant rejoicing and the confidence in knowing we will live forever.  What God does, He does it BIG!

16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

God handles all things right!

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

As long as I am living, I will show and tell about the Word of God.

18 The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

God corrects me and allows me to live.

19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord:

Give me the Word of God page by page.

20 This gate of the Lord, into which the righteous shall enter.

The Word of God is the gate I will enter.

21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

God heard me.  I will praise Him.

22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

When we do right, there will be times we will be rejected.  Jesus was the beginning of all things good and He was ignored.

23 This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

God does good.

24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

God set aside a day, that is like no other day.  The day that Jesus gave the light to the world.  The world can now see what God had intended from the foundation of the world.

25 Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

God made the best for us!  Now we beg you to increase the good you have for all mankind.

26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.

Jesus came in to the world.  Those that received Him as the Word of God, now bless Him from the house they now live in built by Him.

27 God is the Lord, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

Secure cords around me and tie me so that the cords will not be broken.  I will be tied and I will show you I do not want to come down and I can if I so desire.  Put your best cords on me and lift me up, I will show you even the best of what you tied me up with cannot hold me down.

28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

You are MY GOD!!

29 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Lord I thank You!  You and Your Word are  the same.
