Psalm 95
95 O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
Be glad to come before God at all times. Be thankful that God has given us an opportunity to get to know Him. Sing a God approved song.
3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
There is no God like God.
4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
God holds everything. Everything He made is close to Him. Close enough to watch over it.
5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
Water does not run out of God's hands. I have never seen a hand that could hold liquid. What an amazing God. His description sounds like God. The things He can do makes Him God. My mind is elevated in what I am learning about Him.
6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
The invitation is saying come let us bow. It is better than bowing because you have to and came on your own. I want to bow after reading in this chapter and I have not seen Him yet. Oh, but I have, I see Him in His truth.
7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
If He speaks, respond. We are His.
8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Don't refuse His instructions. We do not want to be as those who were leaving Egypt; Stubborn and disobedient. Let us not remind God of Israel's bad behavior by our behavior.
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
The children of Israel saw God do what we read about. They had first hand experience and yet they refused to believe.
10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
40 years of hurting the one who loves you. If we took the time to notice God we will know His ways. Observe Him. He is amazing.
11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
Because they refuse to comply. Trouble will not cease.
