Psalm 99

99 The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth 

between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.

The Lord rules!  Let the people become extremely excited!  He sits between the angels:  let the earth change her position and recognize God is in it!

2 The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.

The Lord is known in Jerusalem; and He can see all people.

3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.

Let us praise the description of the attributes of God.  He and His names are the same.

4 The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

When a king is strong it is because he loves God's rules.  When the king chooses to allow God to rule, the people will know they are being treated right.  You judge Israel right.

5 Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.

Use the Word of God for everything.   Worship at His feet. Stay close to Him.  Stay in His Word before you do anything. He does people right.

6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the Lord, and he answered them.

The people around Moses, Aaron and Samuel called upon God, and God answered them.  We benefit from being around people who lead people to trust God.

7 He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.

He spoke to them in a place where He was unseen but heard.  The people kept His Word and the instructions He gave them.

8 Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.

God answered the people.  God forgave them but he brought His wrath upon their wrong doings.

9 Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy.

Speak highly of God everywhere.  Obey God's Word in the things we do to represent Him, because God is present and He does things right.  We are to use His ways to do the things we do.
