Psalm 136
136 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Give thanks, God is good, God's mercy is everlasting. What a resume' God has.
2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Tell God thank you. God is waiting to forgive at all times.
3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.
God repeats His mercy.
4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.
God does great wonders in everything He does: His mercy last forever.
5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.
God made the heavens. Nobody else can take that credit. The heavens declare He is God.
6 To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.
God made earth! He said He made the earth and He did.
7 To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:
He made the lights.
8 The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:
He told the sun to rule the day.
9 The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.
He told the moon and stars to rule at night.
10 To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:
God brought judgment on Egypt.
11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:
God brought Israel from among them.
12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.
He used a strong hand and His stretched out arm to bring Israel out of Egypt.
13 To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:
God divided the Red sea.
14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:
Israel went across the Red sea on dry ground.
15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.
God drowned Pharaoh and his host in the REd sea.
16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.
He led His people through the wilderness. God knows the path in the wilderness. No matter how complicated life may be at times, God knows how to bring you out with a struggle.
17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:
Kings who thought they could not be corrected, God destroyed them.
18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:
He had no problem destroying the famous kings.
19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:
He killed Sihon.
20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:
He killed Og.
21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:
Took what was once Sihon and Og who were both kings and gave their land to His people.
22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.
He gave the land to Israel.
23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:
Israel behave unwisely and found themselves with no help, God remembers and brought them back.
24 And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.
He has done the same for us today.
25 Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.
God feeds all living flesh.
26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Lord thank you for teaching me how to say Thank you.
