Psalm 146

146 Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul.

2 While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

Whether I am sick or well, happy or sad, I will praise the Lord!  

3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

Don't trust celebrities, rich folk, or even friends and family.  Why would you trust a person who will live and die and has the same problems you have?

4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

People die and are buried: if they did not tell you what was right, their thoughts die with them.  There is no life in dead talk, even if the person who spoke his own words is alive or dead.  God's Word is all we need.  Learn to speak the living Word.

5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

The same God in Jacob God has not changed.  His Word was good then and His Word is good today.  My hope is in the Word of God.

6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:

The same God who made everything is the truth.  God's Word is truth.

7 Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth the prisoners:

God will judge those who hold people down.  God will feed those who hunger after His Word.  The Lord will loose the chains of the mind of His people.

8 The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lordloveth the righteous:

Even the blind that covers our windows, or the blind that covers our hearts from loving, or the eyes of the blind who cannot see.  God will open the blind so they can not only see but allow the rays of His Word to shine through.

9 The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

The Lord looks out for the strangers.  (those who may be lost or confused).  He will create a navigation system that will lead you to the place you want to go.  God will pay special attention to those who do not have a father to guide them.  God will also make sure those women who do not have husbands are well taken care of.

10 The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord.

The Lord will always be on the throne.  He will always be God for His people forever!  Praise the Lord!
