13 A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
A son that listens and does what his father instructs is wise: but a son who rejects his father's guidance doesn't listen to corrections.
2 A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
The good words that are spoken from the mouth shall provide plenty: but the person who continues to sin shall eat or reap disruption and chaos.
3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
A careful mouth equals a long life: talking too leads to having much trouble.

A man that loves God hates a liar: but a man without God's Word is hateful, and he will be brought down.
6 Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.
A continuous walk with God keeps you in good standing: but to ignore God's instructions will cause you to be removed from office.
7 There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
Some people pretend to be rich and have nothing: Some people pretend to be poor and are rich.
8 The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.
A rich man can pay for his life as a ransom: But nobody asks for a ransome from a poor man.
9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
Both the righteous and the unrighteous have lamps: but the light of the unrighteous does not last, and the light of the righteous never goes out.
10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
Arrogance leads to strife: but people who take advice shows they're wise.

Wealth that did not come from hard work will be lost: wealth gathered by hard work will become greater.
12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Expectation put off makes the heart ill: but when what is expected comes it is more than expected.
13 Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
Anyone who hates God's Word, will be destroyed. Those who obey His commandments shall be recompensed.
14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
The Word of God is a well of water, it gives instructions to avoid things that will lead to death.
15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
Favor is shown to people who know what they are doing: but those who won't stop doing wrong is not going to be easy.
16 Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.
People who carefully follow instructions are a delight: a person who does things without directions is a fool and everyone he deals with, knows it.
17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.
An unfaithful person who is responsible for carrying a message to someone else will not carry it out: but a person who follows instructions is reliable.
18 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
Shame on you for not obeying God's Word: But those who obey God's Word will live forever.
19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
Setting goals and completing them is sweet: but wasting time doing what you know does not work is stupid.
20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Anyone who learns from those in the Word of God, will learn the Word of God: Anyone who refuses to follow God's Word will be destroyed.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his seed: what the sinner has gained goes back into the account that God originally planned for His people.
23 Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.
Poor management results in loss: there is plenty in the cabinet of a poor man, but bad management keeps them starving.
24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Many people say spare the rod, spoil the child. Again we say and pass down what is not correctly stated in the Word of God. If you rarely or do not use a rod to discipline children, you hate them. Raising children requires structure. I raised 6 sons, I did not want the police or anyone else to hurt what could have prevented by me as the parent when bringing corrections. When they were young and needed discipline, it was administered. I do not pick and choose what is right by the dictates of men. I needed God and He showed me how to teach and discipline the children whom He gave to be a blessing. God's Word has proven to be right in every area of my life.
25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
Jesus said I am the bread of life. If you eat of what I give, you will never hunger again. I give without charge. Eat and live. If you choose not to eat of what I give you will hunger. Hungry people do not live long.
