Isaiah 31
Isaiah 31:1-9 (KJV)
1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because [they are] many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Do not look beyond the Word of God for nothing. God's Word is Right. God's Word has been tried. God's Word has been tested. God's Word has been tried. God's Word has been found to be true over and over and over again. God said stop wasting time Egypt, who represents the world's way will not work.
2 Yet he also [is] wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
I am your God, I am your Father and I will never steer you wrong. If I told you no it is for your good. If I tell you I will not allow modification in what I have spoken, I will not tolerate you sinning against My Word. I punish wrongdoings.
3 Now the Egyptians [are] men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
Egypt, which is ignorant of understanding has no power. They are unable to help you. If you go to them for help, you are wasting your time. I will cause you to fall for going to them and I will cause Egypt to fall if they assist you.
4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, [he] will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
Just like a lion is not afraid of many of you even millions, so it is with me, I am not afraid of the entire world. If you come against me, you will be destroyed.
5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver [it; and] passing over he will preserve it.
I love you! As birds hoover the air and the world is beneath, I care about everything you do and I can see everything. I will defend you and I will keep you, even when you decide to leave me. You are my bride and I will never let you go. Although you will hurt yourselves, I will still watch and wait for you to call me when you have had enough.
6 Turn ye unto [him from] whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
I call out to you, come home!!! You have hurt me deeply and I am God.
7 For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you [for] a sin.
When you let me be who I Am, you will throw your ways away and realize you were loving and pursuing nothing.
8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.
You are afraid of Assyria. You ran to Egypt and said help! Egypt charges you a lot of money and they cannot help. I will destroy the Assyrians and you owe me no money. Just let me be God and you behave as my people.
9 And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire [is] in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
I will help you and you will have to fight the Assyrians. Those who pretend to be the stronger than all they brag of conquering, I will show you what I will do to them before I do it; and you will know I am God because I told you the outcome before I get started. I will cause them to run back the same way they came in and they will be afraid of the smallest stick I leave behind as a reminder.
I am God and Jerusalem and all those who live there are mine. Let me take care of you.
