Isaiah 54:1-17 (KJV)

1 Sing, O barren, thou [that] didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou [that] didst not travail with child: for more [are] the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.

To be barren is to be without the ability to have children.  God is speaking to unfruitful people, who He is changing the label of not being able to produce; I am changing your image as a nation.  The desolate (barren) children are my own people (Israel) who refuse to be who I know you could be.  I am letting you know I am changing your position!  You will give birth as a nation; you will be the mother I wanted you to be to all nations.

Hours later I have more to say:

After I read this verse, I was not completely satisfied with what I wrote at first.  Now I learned that God gave Israel another chance.

1.  Israel is barren.  She is totally empty.  There was no way she could birth because as a youth she could not conceive and she, later on, became without a husband.  When we are barren, we are empty.  God speaks to Israel as an empty vessel that once He puts His seed or Word in Her she will give birth to many.  When God's seed is in us, we will become related to everybody who wants Him to be their God.

2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

Since you are going to increase in size, start doing something to show that you believe Me.  Make your place bigger.  Do not think of the money it will cost to get what you need.  Get excited and make room for all of your newborn children.

3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

You are going to be so big that you will include those who never knew me.  You will be such a light until the Gentiles. until they will be a part of your family. God wanted Israel to be a people that would draw all people to Him.  When the Gentiles saw how good God was they too would join in the family of God and the Will of God will be complete in His Salvation.

4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

I command you not to fear your past.  You will make your house big and I will make sure you are not wasting your time following my instructions.  What you did wrong in your past is not who you are anymore.  When I forget your past, nobody can hold you guilty for what I forgave.  Hold your head up Israel!  Your shame is gone!

5 For thy Maker [is] thine husband; the LORD of hosts [is] his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

I am your provider!  I am your husband.  I am your God and the God of the whole earth.

6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.

When everyone counted you out, I wanted you.  When nobody else wanted to be called your husband, I want you to know, I am not ashamed to be called your Husband.  Yes, you were unfruitful, but I erased all the negativity about who you were.

7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

Compared to eternity, 70 years was a moment being away from you; but because I have forgiven you, I want you to come back home to me.

8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

Come back home!  I welcome you back to the place that has always been yours.

9 For this [is as] the waters of Noah unto me: for [as] I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

Just like I promised Noah I will never use water to correct you, so I will make you a promise that I will never leave you.

10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

You will see things change, but it will not be because I am leaving you.

11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, [and] not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

I will build you a house and set it on a firm foundation.  The best of stones will you walk on.

12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.

Your windows will be a gate that will swing open: and the openings will be made of precious stones.

13 And all thy children [shall be] taught of the LORD; and great [shall be] the peace of thy children.

I will give You my Word and all your children will know who I am.  All who are connected to you will be in great!

14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

I will give you every turn you should make.  My Word will give you protection to stand out from anyone who is unlike Me.

15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, [but] not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

If you ever see anyone who comes against you, know that I did not send them.  Anyone who comes against you will come to an end.

16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

I have created everybody for an assignment; I created your enemies to be destroyed if they come against you.

17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD.

You have my promise, if you continue in My Word, nobody can harm you.  This is your certificate of My vow to you.  Anyone who comes against you will die.  My Word is my every move.  Remember I am God.
