Isaiah 60:1-22 (KJV) 

1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 

GET EXCITED!  GOD IS GETTING READY TO PUT YOU ON DISPLAY!

2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 

Jesus showed up when man had gone as far as God had allowed him to go living in continuos sins.  In our world, I have seen the unthinkable happen and we applaud the factors not knowing the product we will receive when it is too late.  People think, say, and do every wrong they can imagine as if God is not in control.

BUT, God will Show UP!  And He will Put the SPOT Light on you!!!!

3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. 

Jesus will be so shinny until those who never knew of Him will come, and kings will be drawn to Him.  Even before He was born Kings heard of His coming!!!

4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at [thy] side.

The talk of you has caused people to gather.  When they hear of who you are they will come to where you are.  sons and daughters who are still nursing from their mothers will be all around you.

As close as a baby is to its nursing mother, and  you will be extremely close to those with authority who both supply you with what is vital for you.

 5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

You will feel so overjoyed with who you are and how others will gather around to see you and what I will do for you.

 6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

Camels, camels, and more camels will show up with jewels and incense just to see you and give praises to our God.

 7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

People will use transportation to come from afar to meet you.  God will approve of your presence and the people will know it.  They will be in your presence to meet your needs.

 

8 Who [are] these [that] fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows? 

Some people will fly in to see you.  If they are not able to see you up close they will view you from a window.

9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee. 

Ships are coming too!!  People from the islands will be there.  They will bring loads and loads of gifts!!!!!!

10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee. 

Oh Jerusalem Jerusalem!  The walls that have been torn down in My anger will be built again.  The leaders shall see to it!!!!!

11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that [men] may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and [that] their kings [may be] brought. 

You will access it 24/7 so that the people can bring the gifts that are Yours!  From the least to the greatest of people will be coming in day and night!

12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, [those] nations shall be utterly wasted. 

Anyone who does not want to serve you will be destroyed!

13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. 

Those from Lebanon shall come and decorated my sanctuary.  They know how I like it!  I google the temple of Lebanon, expecting to see a spectacular scene.  Surprisingly all I saw were very old buildings.  I thought for a moment, God does not care about the beauty of a thing, God cares about the quality; because it produces longevity.  

14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel. 

It is not surprising to hear people call Jesus Israel a city!  That is who we are if we are in Him!  He said we are a city that sits upon a hill that cannot be hidden.  They will call Him/God's people the City of Jerusalem!  If we did something to change a city, it would be fitting to name that city after you!!!!

15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through [thee], I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations. 

Jesus/Israel/ me was hated!  Why?  God said for all You went through, I will make it up to You!

16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD [am] thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. 

 I will provide you what you need from the common people and from kings.  The Lord will pay You for every move You ever made for the good of man!

17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness. 

All things will be upgraded for You!  I will give you the protection of men that will be peaceful and those who you will deal with will be honest men.

18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise. 

When Jesus comes peace comes also.

19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. 

Instead of the sun and moon providing light, God will be who will be providing Your light!

20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. 

The sun and moon will retire.  God's light is lit!

21 Thy people also [shall be] all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. 

The righteous will be made known and they will live in the glory of God forever!

22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

A little will be made much!

A small nation will be strong!  God will show again what He can do with 2 fish and 5 loaves.  Because of the need, God will provide.

The Lord will be quick to make this happen.
