Ezekiel 6

Ezek 6:1 KJV

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Again God spoke to Ezekiel and said,

Ezek 6:2 KJV

Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,

Because Israel had copied the ways of those who worshiped idol gods, God told Ezekiel to speak to the place they were worshiping the gods they now worshiped.

Ezek 6:3 KJV

And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.

God told Ezekiel exactly what to say to them; tell them I, who is God, will be behind the sword that will destroy the places you worshiped a god who is no god at all.

Ezek 6:4 KJV

And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.

I will destroy your religions and kill the men who worship those religious idols.

Ezek 6:5 KJV

And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.

I will destroy you because you left My instructions and put an idol before you and I will kill you and scatter your bones around your altars.

Ezek 6:6 KJV

In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.

I will destroy the cities, your places of idol worship, altars, and your idols will be broken, also the images you created will be cut down and destroyed.

I

Ezek 6:7 KJV

And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Dead body will fall where you are and you will know I, the Lord did this.

Ezek 6:8 KJV

Yet will I leave a remnant, that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.

Many will be destroyed, but not all.  God will allow a few to survive the horror of His judgment.

Ezek 6:9 KJV

And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

The few that remain will remember what I did and they will depart from worshipping idols.   After remembering My wrath, they will hate what they have done.  I hate that you stopped listening to Me and I showed you how much I hated it by My anger.

Ezek 6:10 KJV

And they shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.

I promised you I would destroy you and I did.

Ezek 6:11 KJV

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.

I am giving authority to the avenger to carry out my anger toward My people.

Ezek 6:12 KJV

He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.

Death will be the sentencing to my people no matter where they are.   When God told Jeremiah to warn the people to submit to Nebuchadnezzar, many of them refused and those that did not submit fell into the fury of God.

Ezek 6:13 KJV

Then shall ye know that I am the LORD, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.

Who you left me for, there you will be found dead.

Ezek 6:14 KJV

So will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

God shows his anger toward disobedient people.

God hates when we sin.
