Nahum 1

Nahum 1

Nahum sends a message to the enemy God used to bring His people to correction.  However, God will not hold the enemy guiltless.  How can God use and judge people at the same time?  If your heart is evil, God will use your evil heart to show people what it is like to be under someone other than Him, who is absolute love.  We will have to submit to somebody, and if we don't want the leadership of God, then we must be submitted to someone, and that someone is the enemy. He allows the enemy to rule over our lives.  His plan is always to save everybody, but if we choose not to listen to Him, all who are not under His control will die.

Although the enemy is the Assyrians in this chapter, I have chosen the spirit of the Assyrians to show how relevant our behavior connects to the wrath of God.  Just like Israel, who disobeyed God and had to go into a 70-year exile, we too will be judged by God.
What is Assyrian behavior?  Assyrian behavior lifts up his own way of ruling and living without God.  When we have fame, power, and money, we make decisions for those who want something from us. Just like the Assyrians, we neglect the Word of God, and then we cannot tell in the book of Nahum if we are talking about history or our current events.  Nahum shares the heart of God clear enough for us to decide.  Will we do what they did and get what we do want? Or will we learn from them and avoid all of what we do not want God to repeat?

God uses Nahum with graphic details of what will come to all who refuse to obey His laws.  Many people say or think because this is before Jesus' time, we will avoid the judgment of God; if we do what the old school does, we will get what the old school got.  God has always been merciful.  God allowed many sins before he decided to bring His wrath.  Even in His wrath, He knows somebody will learn, and He will be ready to move on with His divine plan for us.
Jesus brings us to God. Yes, Jesus came and did the assignment of bringing us to God, but not all know Jesus.  To know Him, you must abide in His Word.  He is our instructor to show us how the Father wants us to behave.  If you do not come to class and allow Jesus to teach, the wrath of God remains over your life, and we will receive the same detailed punishment as disobedient Israel, and the Assyrians received.
Each video is designed to show you a picture of our society today.  There is no reason for us to say, I do not understand.  Since God told us to come as a child, I want to present God in a way for you to see what He said just as if you were a child or if you are a child, you can learn about God easily right now.
God will punish, and if we live through the punishment and learn, He is ready to forget and move on with fun times in Him.

The Assyrians, though used by God to bring His people to understand God's authority, will be punished for the evil they did.

We may not be dressed as the enemy in uniform, but we have the same devil's intent as the Assyrians, and God sees all of our motives, good or bad.  Let us strive for change; it is easy when we practice.
