PSALM 4

Brendaonline.com

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

I speak to you my God, only to you.  You are right all the time.  When I want what is one hundred percent I call on you!  You have made me your focus! when I was in trouble! Don't give me what I deserve and hear my request.

O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

God answers and asks men how long will you turn what I made good into an embarrassment?  You are my glory.  How long will you follow your own path?  How long will you seek after something you will never own and I will never approve of?

But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.

God separates who belongs to Him!  He recognizes my voice when I call him!

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Remain in wonder and don't be anxious to make your own move without His Word.  Talk to God in your heart in your own bed and be still.  Don't parade around from place to place, house to house, relax.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

Do what you know is right!!!!

There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

A whole lot of people will say why are you waiting on God?  Will God show us any good?

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

I could spend money to buy food and wine to make me feel better.  But Your Word makes me glad and I did not spend a dime.  Your word is more than the things of life that I have in my possession.

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

When I trust God,  I have peace and I can sleep because the protection of God surrounds where I dwell.
