Song of Songs 3
Song of Songs 3:1-11 (KJV)
1 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
Is this a dream? Is it a reality? The bride discovers that the one she loves is not in her view.
2 I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
If it is a dream, it is not for some. However, the woman leaps from the bed to find the man she is in love with.
3 The watchmen that go about the city found me: [to whom I said], Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?
No one was to busy or important to ask them, have you seen the man I love?
4 [It was] but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
She sought the man she loved and brought him to her mother's home. Here we see that the woman looks for the man she loves and the same man who loves her. I love the truth. Many times we cloud God's Word and always see the man running after the woman; a harlot seeks a man and that is excepted, but if a godly woman speaks of seeking a man, she is made shame. That is why I love the nuggets in scripture.
5 I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake [my] love, till he please.
Until you know for sure that the man you want is who you want, do not allow your heart to go after him.
It will be like the wild deer from the field running when they do not know where they are going. Know who you want to have your heart.
6 Who [is] this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
A man coming smelling good and he is coming to see the one he loves. He stopped to groom himself and it is noticeable. And he also came bearing gifts.
7 Behold his bed, which [is] Solomon's; threescore valiant men [are] about it, of the valiant of Israel.
His friends are with him. He is a strong man and his friends are as he is, strong and supporting him as he receives the woman he loves.
8 They all hold swords, [being] expert in war: every man [hath] his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.
His friends show that they are true to him. Why, because he is true to all he represents.
9 King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon.
King Solomon cared about what he rode in especially when he has his bride in mind. Some men like to impress the woman they are in love with. Especially what he rides in.
10 He made the pillars thereof [of] silver, the bottom thereof [of] gold, the covering of it [of] purple, the midst thereof being paved [with] love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.
He customized his vehicle and when he did, he had his bride in mind.
11 Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.
See the man I am marrying, let it be known everywhere. When true love meets, tell the world. This day should be one to remember.
