Isaiah 19
Isaiah 19:1-25 (KJV)
1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
The earth is the Lord's. God is the lean holder and God is the landlord. We do not have the power to tell God if He can or cannot come into what is His. When God shows up, everything that pretended to be God falls down. All imitation or imaginary gods know the real God and they throw their titles. When the men who created them see this, they become terrified.
2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, [and] kingdom against kingdom.
God removes his presence and when God does that we will kill each other.
It went from one to one
from neighbor to neighbor
city against city.
3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
Egypt will be scared and shocked at what is happening so quickly. I will destroy any possible way of finding a solution to the problems that will occur. Then Egypt will go after other gods hoping to find some form of a god that can give some spiritual lift. Many of our churches are worshipping an unknown god. Whenever we neglect the Word of God, we neglect God.
4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
Because Egypt refuses to honor me as Lord, I will give them someone who is the opposite of who I AM.
5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
God controls nature. God alters what we take for granted. When God stopped the supply of water, man is in trouble.
6 And they shall turn the rivers far away; [and] the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.
Imagine the living creatures in the water all dying; the air smells like death. Everything in the water or around the water is dying.
7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no [more].
Every plant that is inexpensive or expensive is dying because of the lack of water.
8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
The fishermen who made their living from the water will desperately cry. Will God do all this in one day? As I studied the water supply in Egypt on 3/4/2022, I discovered that the effect of the water supply has lessened. Could the prophecy be unfolding and we are too busy to notice it?
9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.
Water is a major resource for living. God gave us at least 70 percent of water to live by. Since water supplies so much for us, when it is limited it will affect the things that grow from water that we will desire or need. The materials from plants need water; when that is cut off, we no longer will have the influx needed to do what water provides.
10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices [and] ponds for fish.
No irrigation man will develop will work to take the place of God's wrath on water because of man's refusal to change and behave as God designed for man.
11 Surely the princes of Zoan [are] fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I [am] the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
Moses spoke to Pharoah in these areas. Pharaoh had counselors who advised him wickedly. The advice since Moses has become obviously so stupid that it shows they could not be of the king's expectation to give advice. They gave advice sounding like fools. The place mentioned can be compared as a highly recommended university but now it is as a fool is an advisor.
12 Where [are] they? where [are] thy wise [men]? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.
Questions will be raised.
13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, [even they that are] the stay of the tribes thereof.
When a prince sounds like a fool, it is embarrassing. They seduced Egypt. When persuaded Egypt to fall for their foolishness, Egypt was not aware of what shape they were really in.
14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken [man] staggereth in his vomit.
The Lord did not allow His wisdom in. Any advice given without God's directions is perverted. It was obvious to all who understood intelligent thinking that Egypt was in trouble.
15 Neither shall there be [any] work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
From the leader to the least, no one had anything to do.
16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
Egypt and its army were shaking. As a woman who is frantically fearful so were the strong men of Egypt.
17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
If anyone mentioned Judah's name, Egypt became terrified. God spoke through Israel and Egypt knew that God's hand was against it.
18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
Now Egypt is coming to its senses. 5 cities turn to God, even one of the worst of them was named to be of the five.
19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.
Egypt will proclaim Jesus is Lord!
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
God uses Egypt to make this statement that Jesus is Lord. It is not surprising that God uses Egypt for his sign; perhaps because Egypt was the city that tried to stop God's plan, the love of God shows the world how He forgave Egypt and He is showing us how will forgive us!
21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform [it].
God will be known in Egypt! The world will know God lives in Egypt! Egypt will be faithful to God! God loves mankind!
22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal [it]: and they shall return [even] to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
God will correct and heal Egypt. He will hit hard and heal every wound of Egypt!!!
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
Countries who never got along with Egypt will now do business with Egypt!
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, [even] a blessing in the midst of the land:
Israel, Assyria, and Egypt will unite!!!!!!!!
25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed [be] Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
God says, Behold look at what I just did! The three countries many have counted out have been saved by My hands!!!!
