King Lemuel is a king with no written background.  Many times God uses people we may or may not know in His Word.  King Lemuel had a mother who taught him well.  This was not the father who was teaching.   His father is not mentioned. There are many homes that are without fathers and the mother is the one God expects to show the son which way to go using His word.  She is teaching her son how to be a king.  We should all teach our children as though they are kings.  If you knew your son was going to be king, how would you instruct him? 2  What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? 28  The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. When we do wrong we constantly look over our shoulders.  We look suspicious and that makes people who think you may be up to no good keep their eyes on you.  What a waste of time.  When a person is handling business and he is doing right, he is focused on the matter at hand and it does not phase him that someone is paying any attention to him. 2  For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
