Proverbs 29

Proverbs 29

29 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

If we continue after being warned repeatedly to stop our bad behaviors, we will die suddenly because we refused to change.  God does have a deadline.  There will be no one that can help us if we do not get off the road God said remove your self from.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

People are happy when good people are in leadership.  Good leadership treated people fairly.  When people who care nothing for people lead, people are unhappy.

Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

If a son loves wisdom his father is happy: if a son spends money on prostitutes his father is shamed.

The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

A king who makes sure laws are followed keeps order: but a king who excepts bribes loses the kingdom.

A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

Flattery is false compliments.  When we allow flattery, the person who selfishly supply praiset toward us has an ulterior motive.

In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

Evil men live to regret their choices: the righteous have a good life.

The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

The righteous help the poor:  the wicked ignore them.

Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

Mean leader hurt the city: wise leaders know what to do to stop the chaos.

If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

Steer away from the foolish.

10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

Evil men want to hurt the just: the just want to know all the righteous has to say.

11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

A fool tells everything: a wise man knows when to keep quiet.

12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.

A leader who listens to lies, everyone who works for him is wicked.

13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.

The poor will meet the deceitful: the Lord will show them who is who.

14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.

The leader who meets the need of the poor will make a difference.

15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

The rod works: a child left without discipline will embarrass the mother.

16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

The righteous will live to see the downfall of the disobedient.

17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

Correct your son and he will make you happy:  you will be glad he is your son.

18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Where the knowledge of God is absent people die: but whoever keeps the law of God is happy.

19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.

A servant correction is not by words, action must take place:  he knows you are right when correcting him, but words are not enough to get him to change.  A disobedient person learns by consequences.

20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

People who do not think before he speaks is worse than a fool. Why is that?  Fools do not have the right answer so they tend to just speak out of ignorance: a man who knows right from wrong but did not pause to say what he wanted to say indicates that he spoke out of turn even when he was right.

21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

All children must have firm teaching.

There must be perimeters set in place for someone who works for you.  They are being paid.  The master of the servant must bring corrections when needed or he will live to regret his lack of leading the servant in the wrong directions.  Now the servant thinks he is part of the family.

22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

An angry man causes chaos, a furious life is full of chaos.

An angry man has problems, but a extremely angry man has many more issues.  A woman who marries a man who is always speaking negative words will be sorry she made him her choice.

23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Pride causes you to fall: but a man of honor will stand.

How do you recognize a prideful man?  I met a man who describe himself as man who was looking for a wife who will submit to him.  He wanted control over everything.  This same man has been married several times and spoke with bitterness concerning women.  I tried several times to have dialogue with him but he constantly told me to shut up.  I thought because he had a rough childhood I should be patient and allow him to do most of the talking. Absolutley nothing I did helped matters.  I concluded perhaps that is why he is alone.  He believed he was right and he also convinced himself God approved of his behavior.  I finally left him alone.  When a person does not listen to the Word of God, that person is full of himself and when we are full ourselves, God leaves us to ourselves because pride and love cannot coexist.

24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

To help a thief is to hate your own life: If you hear cursing and don't say anything you are wrong.  We must disapprove of wrong doing and one way we can show we do not consent is by our countenance.  Our looks can speak volume.  If we help in any matter of aiding anyone to commit a crime we are guilty.  No matter if it is with love ones or friends, we must stand firm in what is right even if we are misunderstood.

25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

Living in fear causes problems: trust God and enjoy life.

Do not fear what men will do to you.  In order to do this we must stand in the Word of God everyday.  God promises to keep us and He will keep His Word.

26 Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the Lord.

God uses leaders and people seek leaders for favor.  Ultimately God gives the leader His response.  We can already know the answer to our problems if we carefully seek the Word of God for wisdom.  In all our ways acknowledge Him and He will direct or way.  Seek Him in health, wealth, marriage, etc.

27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

Wicked hates good: and good hates wicked.
