20 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2 Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.
3 I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
4 Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
5 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
6 Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
7 Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
8 He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
9 The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
10 His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
Your children shall beg to pay off your debt.
11 His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
12 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
13 Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
Sin is so delicious you want to savor it. You want it to last until it is dissolved. Like hard candy on the tongue that is soon melted away.
14 Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
The meat eaten then passes through the bowel will be like a poisonous snake inside him. His stomach will hurt so badly that there will be no words to describe the pain.
15 He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
16 He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.
17 He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
18 That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.
You will work hard to earn your money and you will owe exactly what you earned to pay your debt. You will not enjoy one cent of your wages.
19 Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
Zophar is talking to Job. He is telling the half-truth as we know it.
20 Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
Job will live in constant turmoil according to Zophar.
21 There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
He will lose all and no one will care or even try to search for what might be left of Job.
22 In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
All that Job has will be taken by wicked people, according to Zophar.
23 When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
24 He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
25 It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
26 All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
27 The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
28 The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
29 This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
Dear Zophar,
Are you speaking to your friend? You speak as if you have found evidence to have Job convicted. I hear your verdict, but you did not point out any crime he committed. Did you know you cannot condemn a man without proof of a crime? Where is your heart? Why are you dragging a man to the court that seems to be already dying? Do you hate Job that much? I ask these questions because I want to know the debt of hatred of one man to another. What sin has a consequence this expensive? You sound as if you hate God rather than Job. Could that be who you are expressing your hatred toward? After all, Jesus said if you do it to the least of your brother you do it to him. Zophar I believe Job represents the church. The words you speak is how much the enemy hates God's Word. You have no evidence of wrongdoings, God's Word has no evidence of wrongdoings done by Job in Job chapters 1 and 2. You want Job to stay alive and suffer every moment that he breathes; the enemy feels and sounds the same way toward God's people. You spoke a few chapters ago and in this chapter, you heated the elements of hatred toward a man who has not done you wrong. What has Job done wrong toward you? If Job is your friend, how do you feel about your enemy?
It doesn't take me long to figure your motives out, you did not seek chapter one or two before you opened your mouth, or did you? Had you done so, you would have known that God was looking out for you, while he was using your friend Job. You see, Jesus died so that you would not have to. No one can stand the punishment of a living God. I hope you repent for your words because according to my calculator, you will have to live out all that you gave out toward Job and that is bottomless and it will take forever to pay off words that cost that much.
Before I go, I would like to add this, you told words that could be true if you were speaking to the person who is guilty. However, you left out the part that should be spoken if he is not guilty. God shows us what to do if we want right and God shares with us what happens if we choose wrong. You told the truth of a guilty man, but you only told 1/2 of the truth. People need the whole counsel of God's Word. Why did you not tell Job all the good that will come his way if he is not guilty? Zophar I am afraid if you don't apologize to Job, you will have trouble.

Sing or Say
Job 20
Job 20
You say you want to tell me off
You say you want to sum me up
You say you want to call me out
I say do you sound like God?
You say you are my friend
You say you are doing me good
You say I am wrong
I say do you sound like God?
God gives us choices
To choose the good from the bad
You speak one sided because
The truth doesn’t sound like that
Learn to say what God said
Speak only the truth
Give me a choice
Cause what He said to me He said to you.
