Job 39

39 Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

Not just a goat, a wild goat in the mountains. A wild goat, the most unlikely of us, is provided and watch out for.  Do you know when the female (deer) gave birth?

Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

Do you know how long it took for them to carry that baby?  Do you know the birthday?

They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

They do not have nurses.  They bow themselves.  They give birth. They forget the pain of labor.

Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

The babies love the field.  They eat grain or corn; they leave home and never return to mom.

God is saying EXPLORE Me!  Go search these things I created.  When you don't know what to do look up something about me that you don't know  and allow me to tell you a little more of my character.  When I say praise me, I meant it!  I am worthy to be praised!  How is my Word connected to this?  You were born to have an expected end.

Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.

The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

God is telling us I have my eyes on earth.  Even the wild ass.

I can deal with the worst of the worst!

Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

10 Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

11 Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

12 Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?

Can you tame a wild ox?

14 Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

15 And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

16 She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her's: her labour is in vain without fear;

17 Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

18 What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

An ostrich is considered a dumb fowl, uncaring bird.

19 Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

20 Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.

21 He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

22 He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

23 The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

24 He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

25 He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

Do you think like a horse?

26 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

27 Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

28 She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

29 From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.

30 Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.

Day 1-😡😢 God knows everything about everything.  He knows the caring animals from the wild independent animals. Why is he asking Job these questions?  Is there a lesson to be learned from these questions?

What does the average person think about these animals?

Does anyone care about the wild?

What is the purpose of these particular nonhuman characteristics can we learn from to make us better people?

Are we like these animals or birds?

Lord teach me why I need to know this.  Show me the hidden treasure about this.  I am here as I was yesterday. The only reason I show up is that I do not know you and I want to know how you think.  I am not sure again of the meaning of this chapter.  I do know it is not written to show me how frail I am.  I just don't know why chapter 39 is seemingly complicated.  I have been in this place before and I again am lost in the meaning.  You have shown me before and I know you will not leave me without counsel.  Help me not to darken my mind concerning this chapter.  Forgive me if I have blocked the flow of what you want me to know.  I thirst and hunger to understand.  You promise to fill me.  Thank you for filling me with a simple understanding.  Show me what a child can remember from this chapter.

The next day.   Praise God I understand!

Day 2 -After much praying and seeking to know the meaning of this chapter, God graciously showed me an understanding that I can say I know better now.  God spoke of the wild goats, hinds, the hinds' calf, unicorn, peacock, ostrich, horse, hawk, and eagle.  Each of these species was named and most of them God shared some of their characteristics.  All in all, I learned that God gave enough information about these animals or birds to learn from so that we have no time for idle talk.  These animals and birds show us our character and behaviors so that we can study and examine ourselves.   We can also learn how to talk about a matter that has a beginning and ending and stay within the guidelines of the truth.  Instead, we spend time biting and devouring one another.  Job lost his thoughts of God because he first allowed his friends to accuse him and then he defended himself that God called words spoken without understanding.  When we fully seek God, we will have less time to chew on each other and give advice that means at most, nothing at all.  This chapter sent rebuke and reproof and definitely a Father's love for his son.
