You are the salt of the eartth.
The people of God make the world have flavor. The Psalmist has a view of the world and he is questioning why they seem to be doing better than he. His view of ungodly people is written as if they prosper and the people of God do
not seem to have the advantage of what they believe. The ungodly rich, are respected by the world and their way of thinking have great influences of many who live in the world.
This is confusing when you know what the Word of God promises as you view your godly state in comparison to the ungodly.
Before he buys into the lie of this world's richess, he goes back into the Word of God and regains his composer. He saw in the Word how the story of the ungoldly will end. He knows that the ungodly live for the now. The money and status will only last under this world's view of life. For example, the money value in the United States is not as valuable in the United Kingdom; at least that was the way it was a few years ago; however, what I am trying to say is, I cannot go to another country and try to bring my values into a kingdom I am unknown to. So it is with the ways of God. The worlds way does not fit into the God's Kingdom.
God has given every country an invitation to switch dynasties and let Him rule anybody, and He will rule everywhere.
He wants us back where we started. He wants man back where He was God and He was ruler and He wants man in the position that man allows Him to meet his every need. When the psamist understood the Word, he proclaimed that He will let God navigate him in this world and after this life is over, he will join and live with God our Father, forever. Even while God is navigating his life here on earth, he will live from glory to glory in this present world. What God has given us is the best bargin know to mankind. We are born again. We learn the vocabulary of the FAther. We speak like Him, we act like Him our character is just like His. And all we have to do is... Let God preach to us daily. Simply sit back and let Him teach us about Him.
As children we must first learn our foundational tools needed to progress in life; as in preschool to elementary school. Then in middle school we advance, and we begin to explore what we like; by high school, we know what we would like to become. College we get the degree that will make us masters of our craft.
This is how God wants us to as students in His Class. Come to class daily. You will get your assignment each morning and go home and reread what was taught and show up the next day to learn the next lesson of life. We all are familiar with this concept, so let take what we know and apply it to the Word of God. It is just that simple.
It is a free education!!!!! He already us His book at no cost to us All this and then walk into His Domain and live forever.

73 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.
16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.
19 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
20 As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
22 So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
27 For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.
