Psalm 108

108 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. (Psalm 57:7-11)

 My heart is securely, placed, fastened, permanently, and definitely located in the Word of God.  I will sing, praise and use my talent to make God's goodness known.

Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

David seem to be prepared for a song anywhere and anytime. It may be a good idea to keep a device near you to record a song or two.

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

Live a life of praise in your speech and conduct.  David reminds us over and over to keep a song handy.  Sing anywhere even if you do not sing loud.

For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.

God has plenty of mercy.  Are we asking for the portion we need?

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;

Take space Lord.  Let your being be known everywhere.

(Psalm 60: 5-12)

That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.

David speaks boldly and calls himself God's beloved.  David knew God would save him using the right way.

God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.

David knew the people of this land and how they respond to doing right.  Shechem, and Succooth were close to David and he knew what he had to do to bring correction in that area.  Gilead, Manasseh were under good control,  Ephraim was known by David to be strong and able to fight or protect, easy to lead.  Judah is known to make sure the laws were in place.  Moab was a sore to Israel and God through David knew he could get what was right by them by making them servants; and Edom was not included, undependable and unstable in following directions;  a shoe  thrown from the owner of the shoe indicates insults were identified in the people who were rebellious.

10 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

David ask God who can help me fight against Edom?  Edom is from a long list of relatives of Esua.  Esua hated Jacob and his hatred is past down to many generations.

11 Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?

Lord you did not put up with your people when we did wrong; will you help us now?  Will you give us victory against the mean people of Edom?

12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

We want help from you Lord.  Help from people is useless.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

David's finally accepts that God will hear and give strength in the time they needed to fight against Edom.  WE Will Win!!!!
