Proverbs 24
24 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
Do not be jealous of things that God does not approve of, nor should you want to hang out or be a part of them.
2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
The purpose of religion is to destroy you, and they speak words to do harm.
3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
The Word of God builds houses to last, and God will guide you in how to build your house.
4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
Chambers or rooms are sections of the house. Each house built by God's design will represent its own treasure. When a house is built right, each member of the house sounds good. A house divided will speak chaos. For example: there are several parts of a church, each department ought to sound sweet, from the children to the adult and in all departments. The same is for the family who lives together. When the parents teach well the children will represent what they have learned in their homes. Every member of a home or business or church should sound like they have been taught well.
5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
Anyone who is filled with God's Word is strong: and the strength does not stop, you will become stronger and stronger.
One man can be the strong one and the other man can be the man who plans well. In other words, one man writes the plan, the other man carries out the plan.
6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
To win a war, it takes time to plan. When we plan well, we can count on being safer. Life will present itself with wars that we will have to win; knowing all this, we must be prepared with knowledge and understanding at all times.
7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
A fool can't afford wisdom: God will never use a fool to give His instructions.
8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
Anyone who keeps up trouble will be identified.
9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
Thinking of wrongdoing is sin. Those who meddle with the Word of God are a curse to men.
10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
You will have problems and if you fall out, it is because you do not have enough Word in you.
11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
If you do not do all you can to save a life, God will pay you for your lack of effort to make a difference in the life of someone you did do all you could to keep them stay alive. When you see someone in the wrong, speak up!!!!!!
13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
Eat the Word of God that is sweet. Honey eaten is like wisdom to the soul: and what you know God promised will not be forgotten.
15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
Don't wait around for the righteous to stay down.
16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
Those who love God will fall more than once, and he will get up again: but those who are wicked will stay down.
17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
Do not waste time rejoicing over those who did you wrong or when he is being corrected:
18 Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
For God will refrain from punishing him because of your bad behavior of being happy he is being caught.
19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked:
Calm down when evil is present.
20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
An evil man will get caught.
21 My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
People who have power over your life listen to them.
22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
If you do not listen to those who have power to execute their authority, you will find yourself in a whole heap of trouble you will not have time to get out of.
23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
Be fair.
24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
Call wrong, wrong and call right, right.
25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
When you treat people fairly, God will bless your house.
26 Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
Do not get into others business or affairs. Mind your business. You have nothing to do with someone's else's problems. Do not take your own thought and tell others about something you had nothing to do with.
29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
Do not say, you did it to me and I am going to get you back. God said let me handle all problems.
30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Before you draw any conclusions, observe the matter at hand. Take your time. After careful considerations, draw the conclusion or make the right decision to tell the truth of that you have carefully observed. This is the practice of a wise man.
