Isaiah 4
Isaiah 4
:1-6 (KJV) 1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
Seven women have met together to speak to one man and asked him to marry them all. They wanted because of the stigma that was placed on women without husbands. The time of this happening is when the wrath of God is upon the women who mislead his people.
2 In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth [shall be] excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
Even though God is dealing with the sins of the daughters of Zion He never forgot those who were not mixed up in the madness in Zion.
Here we see the words "in that day again." It seems God sees a group of people who sought His face under pressure. Although sin is everywhere seemingly, God assures us there will be people who recognizes His Word and are living by it. If God sees no good in the earth, He prunes or cuts His losses. These are the people who did not get trapped by the people who held on to sin. These people were determined to stay in line with the Word of God. They escaped the grip of those who were in charge and held many captive.
3 And it shall come to pass, [that he that is] left in Zion, and [he that] remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, [even] every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
Those people who stood fast to God's Word and who are counted as the people of God;
4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
The Lord Himself will clean the house of Zion, He will do this by what he originally planned for Isreael if they got off track. God does not think of punishment when we do wrong haphazzardly, he thought of everything before he made man. He knew if man decided to disobey His Word, He had to have a conseuence for their actions of disobedience. Because of their continuious misbehaviors, He took the law and judge them accordingly and He placed a buring desire for righteousness in people to uphold the righteous law of God.
5 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory [shall be] a defence.
God promised to take care of His people in the midst of His judgements against those who are wrong. His people were secured both day and night and He wanted them to see His evidence. God will show you tangible evidence of His doings even if we are in the midst of a chaotic world. His people will not be harmed by the angels of distructions even though they live in the same community of evil people.
When the wrath of God was against Egypt, God did not let His wrath harm those He had set aside for His use.
6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
God's dwells in a tabernacle, and sometimes that is called the temple of God; our bodies are the houses/tabernacle of God when we are dedicated to God. The very presence of a man or woman of God supplies a ray of protection whereever they go. The people of God are safe people to run to when life sends problems that are out of control such as storms of life and rain that can be days we are discouraged. When we live as godly people we make the world a better place.
