Isaiah 53
Isaiah 53:1-12 (KJV) 1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Isaiah is reporting the Words of the Lord. If we cannot believe what is going to happen in the future we can look back and reflect on what God spoke and did in the past. Anyone who can justify a faultless past can be trusted to tell me what will happen in the future. If all your ratings have been 100% then I will follow you.
Jesus is the arm of God revealed. If anyone has or will accept Jesus is the arm of God you will also have believed the prophet who spoke of Him before He came and you will believe what is in the report of what He will do in the future.
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we should desire him.
Jesus will grow and He will grow up before the Father as a tender plant. A tender plant is a plant that will grow at a just-right temperature. A tender plant cannot be too cold or too hot. Jesus will not sway to the left or to the right while growing; He will grow straight up as looking at the eyes of His Father. Jesus' reputation will be approachable to all who will come to Him. Jesus' root will be out of a dry ground. Dry ground is solid earth. Jesus' roots will be planted in the land. There will be no need for anyone to say it is difficult to trace His roots. He is easy to locate and there is nothing complicated about Him.
His physical body will not be identified with something special about Him to cause anyone to be attracted to Him. When we look at Him, there will be nothing that will cause you to desire Him fleshly.
When you see a man that is focused and busy getting things done, all you see is the manifestation of the product he wants to complete.
God is painting a picture of Jesus as being synomous to the Word.
The Word of God is not given to being attractive as religion portrays; it does specify a specialilty as in attracting certain ranks of people; the Word of God is not seductive; the Word of God is not flattery.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Jesus understood sorrows and He was not a stranger to hurt: when Jesus was taken into custody, we turned and looked another way, He was look down upon and we said nothing to lift Him up. We saw the truth in action and left the truth and embraced the lie.
As I attempt to share the Word of God, I am amazed at how the people who say they are Christians respond to the truth of the Word of God. I can only imagine how the same people who say they loved God at the time Jesus was enduring affliction did Him. Religious people hate the Word of God still.
Notice Isaiah is saying He is despised as in present tense of men. Men hates God's Ways. When we speak of man, we are speaking of the heart and desire of our human nature. On our own, we think we can live without instructions. Some say life is learned by trial and error. Without the Spirit of God, we will remain as we are; living to die.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Jesus dismissed griefs and took away our sorrows: still we said God is punishing Him and causing Him to be treated hatefully.
5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
But the truth is He was phyically harmed for what we deserved, injured for our continuious wrong doings: the beatings of what we got for standing against wrong, Jesus said I will take it for you; and with the beatings He took in our stead we get the results of healing. We were slaves of men; men had no intention to let us find freedom. Jesus saw what man did to man and said let me put a stop to this. We wanted to live without the pain of a life of normacy; we wanted to know what life was without pain; but, we only knew pain and accepted it as life. Jesus said oh no, not under my watch. Jesus stepped in and said enough is enough.
Jesus did all that and brought healing to a world of hurt.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Every last person on earth, was living without purpose. And a life lived without purpose, is a life waiting to die. The Father put all of our sins upon Jesus and said if you will carry what they do to each other, I will let them live if they copy You.
Every sin dersevers punishement. That means if everyone sins then everyone deserves punishment. The wages of sin is death. So we all deserved to die. God believed in Himself and everything He made. He knew man could live eternally. But man refused as Cain did and said I can think for myself without God. We were made to run by the battery of God. God knew we would kill ourselves and never meet Him and it hurt Him to see us living to die. God sent Jesus and said, I love them just that much. Go get them, I want them. However, you will have to take the punishment they deserve. Jesus look at the Father and said for You, I will do it.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Jesus took the assignment and said let's do it. We were all oppressed and afflicted, the difference between us and Jesus, is, He never opened His mouth; we complain all the time. He was brought as a child to be killed, and a man to have his wool shaven. Jesus said this is dumb, so He did not say a word.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
He was taken from prison and from Judgement: Would it be correct to say He was taken from Judgement to prision? (My thoughts). Nobody would know much about His children? He was killed with no ancestors: He did not come here to raise a family, He came to die.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither [was any] deceit in his mouth.
He said bury me with the wicked and rich people; He said bury me with them and do not separate me in my own separate grave. I want to be known as you. Jesus committed no crime and he never lied.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
God allowed Jesus to go throuh all this, just to get to me.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Jesus knew exactly what He had to go through, and said , I am willing and I will bring Brenda back to you. (US);)
12 Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
I will give a portion of what I have to Him and He will give what has been given to those who hang in there. Why? becasue Jesus gave all He had to get us back in oneness with Our Father; He took the penalty for a whole lot of sins, I mean a whole lot of sins. Not only did He bare sins committed by those who He laid eyes on, He prayed for those who will be born later.
